Tessuti

I want to pass on my apologies for being missing from the blog over the last week. The winter bugs have got the better of me. That is not to say I cant do a spot of online shopping when I am crook still. One of my favourite web stores is Tessuti home wears, so I was delighted to see a new shipment of products had arrived. Those woolen throws are just what I need at present and as we move into spring in summer, their range of kitchen wear is perfect for entertaining guests.

Anders Johansson home

Not many words for you today. Feeling a little under the weather. Coming up to 27 weeks in my pregnancy, finishing off my last ever university paper and running around after my energetic 9 month old Frankie, life is getting busy. Think I will stop by the fruit and vege store and pick up some hearty greens and some juicy oranges and kiwi fruit. Need to get back on the juice/smoothie making buzz I am thinking.

Love this home spotted here at Anders Johansson.Gorgeous mix of country with a dash of industrial. So many more images to see of this amazing home so pop here to take a look.

Marz Designs

I am pretty dam obsessed with these lights right now. I mean why wouldn’t I be right? Look at them! Amaze! So amaze I have been hunting them down for a while in fact. I NEED ONE IN MY LIFE! The creative brain and driving force behind these beauties, Sydney based, Coco Reynolds of Marz Designs. Coco worked closely with local wood turners to create the beads which form the basis of the pendant lights.

I also did a wee bit of sneaky research on how to construct your own wooden beaded light because I mean it’s a compliment to be copied right? With some large wooden beads, a good electrician and a hanging light you are onto a winner. I would be popping one of these large Father Rabbit bulbs in place of your standard bulb if it was me.

Happy Monday to you all and do get in touch if there is anything you would like me to check out.

Hues of Blue

Friday! Hallelujah! I am off out for lunch today, baby-less, with friends. The sun is shining again so I guess it is also another washing day for me after all of this rain we have had.

Whilst reading through 79 ideas I discovered this gorgeous little cottage which proves light and airy yet homely and welcoming. The blue hues offer warmth and personality and those stripes throughout get me every time. However what I am truly loving is the use of raw natural wood such as the bench top and table.

Below is a selection of products from New Zealands Iko Iko home wears selection to get you started in achieving this look.

Happy Friday to you all.

Summer living

I have been searching the net far and wide these past couple of days. Going off the beaten track you could say. I wanted to find you gorgeous homes that don't feature, at the time, on every blog that you click on. I hope I have succeeded for you with this one. This lovely Swedish summer house I found from Southeby's Realty belongs to stylist Mikael Beckman.

Alot of white I Know. Not so practical for kids I guess but when it looks as gorgeous as this, why wouldn't you go decorate your summer house like this? I love the hints of wooden and the subtle effect that the stripe cushions have throughout the rooms.

To achieve a similar look use items such as rustic metal letters from Chicos. Yacht striped cushion from Bolt of Cloth and an industrial styled pendant light from Freedom Furniture.

House Envy

Starting off the week with a wee bit of house envy. I know that most of you may have seen a couple of these images. If you follow this blog, my Facebook page, or Pinterest page you definitely would have as they are favourite images of mine. I decided to do a wee bit of research and see if I could find the rest of the house and here it is. What an outstanding place this is. All interior elements that I just love.

Below are some items I have put together to achieve a similar look as this gorgeous home.

Audrey Fitzjohn

I do love exploring the big wide Pinterest world. I can get myself lost for hours jumping from pin to pin. Next thing you know I have several windows open and plenty of new images filed away in my inspiration folders.

It is always exciting to discover a new “favourite pinner”. So on the top of my radar right now is pinner is Audrey Fitzjohn. Not only does Audrey pin the most fabulous images but she is also the owner of the gorgeous online general store hellopaper.co.nz. Audrey is French but living in New Zealand where she runs her Hello Paper.

Below is a mood board I put together from Audreys Little ones Pinterest board. Do check out Audreys pages as she is a woman with style and talent who I admire greatly.

Summer house

Perhaps it is the kiwi coming out in me. Here in New Zealand, we often paint the exterior of our houses dark, charcoals, blacks you name it. Personally, I love it. So I guess this is exactly what has drawn me to this Danish summer house here.

This oasis is a home away from home for architect Christina Halskov where she can escape the hustle and bustle of her every day life. Full of black and white elements, this summer house may give off the vibe of simplicity yet on closer inspection the careful detailing is impeccable.

An on going project for Christina, there are still many things that she would like to tackle. Next up is replacing the old wooden stove but sticking with the same style. Perfection.
