Summer house

Perhaps it is the kiwi coming out in me. Here in New Zealand, we often paint the exterior of our houses dark, charcoals, blacks you name it. Personally, I love it. So I guess this is exactly what has drawn me to this Danish summer house here.

This oasis is a home away from home for architect Christina Halskov where she can escape the hustle and bustle of her every day life. Full of black and white elements, this summer house may give off the vibe of simplicity yet on closer inspection the careful detailing is impeccable.

An on going project for Christina, there are still many things that she would like to tackle. Next up is replacing the old wooden stove but sticking with the same style. Perfection.

  2. House colours are kept very light and traditional here in the UK but I have always been drawn to the dark exteriors! What I would give to have a summer house like this!

  3. It's gorgeous. I love charcoal exteriors, and it's cool how it's dark outside and light and bright inside. x

  4. My house is charcoal, a bit different in Sydney but it looks amazing and very different. I think dark exteriors blend into the environment more than light colours, and plants looks so green against them. Well there you go, I am a fan

  5. A capable home screen can help you by doing a comprehensive home examination and clearly elucidating the current situation with the house. Nevertheless, you may not know anything about picking a home inspector. ashi inspectors
