Mood Boards

Its amazing what you can do with photographs on the computer these days. I am totally digging the mood boards that people are creating. At this stage I don't have Photoshop on my computer so for now I am admiring the work of others. These mood boards have been created or found by Michelle of The Design Chaser and Desiree of Vosges Paris. Awesome right?

Niki of My Scandinavian Home

A gorgeous interview on Niki from My Scandinavian Home found over at Lottie Loves.

Today on At Home With we travel to Malmö, Sweden and take a little look around the home of Niki of My Scandinavian Home... Enjoy!

Hello, my name is >> Niki

I live in >> Malmö, Sweden and I am originally from London.
I am a >> By day I love having a good mooch around beautiful Nordic homes and then sharing them on my daily interior blog My Scandinavian Home.
I live in >> A house by the sea with my Swedish husband, step son (11) and two little girls (2 & 4)
My favourite part of my home is >> Our open plan kitchen / dining and sitting room area. When my family and I are all home doing our various bits and bobs we can still chat and laugh together from across the room.
My favourite room is >> Our dining area. I call this 'the engine' of our house as this is the area that brings us all together. Whether it's having supper with family or friends, making collages with the children, or sitting down with my husband to put together plans for our pipe dream sailing trip around the world (one day!) this is the heart of our home.
Our most recent purchase for our home >> Was a set of three pendant Porcelight P14 lamps by Danish designer Erik Magnussen to go over our dining room table. I love that by day they white but when you turn them on in the evening the whole lamp lights up with a warm golden glow.
My favourite place to shop for homewares is >> I am having an incredibly hard time selecting just one favourite place to shop for homewares, eeeek! In Malmö it's definitely Malmö Modern, a beautiful shop where the owners will go out of their way to help you with latest Scandinavian design items. Online I love Toast home, L'Affiche Moderne, Anthropologie, LET LIV, Design Collectors, Ferm Living..... stop me, or I could go on forever!
For me the most important thing about a home is >> Surrounding yourself with the people and items you love. Oh and lots of light (I live in Sweden after all!).
A house is only a home when >> At the end of the day, there's no other place you'd rather be.
And here is a sneak peek into Niki's gorgeous home...

Paulina Arcklin

Oh my, its a busy time of year. Sorry for my absence yesterday. I had friends over for lunch. Not such great  weather here today so I am going to spend the day on the computer organising my blog for the silly season so it is not neglected.

This morning I have come across the work of Amsterdam based photographer Paulina Arcklin. Paulina focuses on photographing interior images for magazines. Be sure to check out her amazing work. Today I wanted to start by showing you some images from the shoot she did for Werannas Warehouse.

Baz*ar the Empire

Hayley

Nardine

Stylish, classy, oozing appeal. I am talking about a fabulous little shop by the name of Baz*ar the Empire in Ahuriri Hawkes Bay, my home town.

I was lucky enough to head along to the opening of this uber cool clothing shop and I must say I was impressed. What a fabulous little store with so many things. My bank account could have taken an extreme hammering had I not have got out there when I did. However, I did manage to pick up one seriously delicious Zoda necklace which is amazing if I might add.

The store was chocka block full of the latest seasons trends for both men and women and the attention to detail was outstanding. Harneys tea tins, Wood Wick candles and Ruby dairys were scattered throughout.

Owners Hayley and Nardine are looking to launch a website in the very near future but for now, check out their Facebook page for more fabulous Baz*ar the Empire images.

by nord

If you are a regular follower of Milo and Mitzy you will know that I am drawn to striking black and white. You will also know that I am a country girl. So right now I am totally digging the bed linen from by nord. by nord is a Copenhagen label founded in 2008  producing timeless home accessories of high quality. They do sell online here but I am truly hoping that they head my way at some stage in the near future.

I attempted to do my Christmas shopping yesterday but as a new Mum, its not the same as it used to be. Not so easy to dash in and out of shops. Think I will stick to online shopping. Ahhh the ease of the internet right?

Aroha and Friends and F.G Smith Eatery

I was looking over Milo and Mitzy the other day and realised that I have been posting a heap of overseas stories lately. Why I thought, when we have so many amazing businesses right here on our door step. New Zealand is a pretty fantastic place to live. I live on the East Coast in Hawkes Bay, which to me, is the best place of all in New Zealand. (probably a little biased)

Two of my favourite things to do are shop and eat. Two of my favourite places to shop and eat in Hawkes Bay are Aroha and Friends and the Opera Kitchen so could you imagine my delight when I heard that these two places were collaborating. Aroha and Friends and the people of the Opera Kitchen (renamed F.G Smith Eatery) have joined forces in the F.G Smith building in Ahuriri Hawkes Bay creating a very cool atmosphere combining shopping and dining all in on.

Whats even better is that the Opera Kicthen is still alive and kicking as well as F.G. Smith Eatery so I now have two favourite places to eat! Their carrot cake is to die for. Aroha and Friends (originally posted about here) not only stocks the coolest of cool clothes, but also in store you will find the amazing artwork of co founder Rakai Karaitiana I was lucky enough to receive a print from hubby for my birthday.

There is so much more that I could tell you about this place, but honestly I would be babbling on all day so my advice is, get to Hawkes Bay and come and check it out for yourself.
