Little Additions x Hometour x Juliette Hogan Eyewear

Happy Hump day. Can you believe we are into December tomorrow? My birthday this month. Im a real birthday girl. My husband calls them my birthday festivals because I like to get as much out it being all about me as possible. Although I am still unsure of what I want. I actually asked for tea and toast in bed for breakfast with a new magazine, a day out at the markets in Hawkes Bay finished with wine and good food on our deck in front of the outdoor fire. Perfect weekend to me.

Right first up, I want to introduce you to a new online store. Well, technically not new, but a complete rebrand and an overhaul- Little Additions. As the name states, Little Additions is all about providing beautiful, statement pieces for your home to add that perfect little addition.

How awesome is this Paddinton, Sydney Terrace house which has been renovated by Adrian Amore Architects? It actally goes to show that you dont have to stick to the one colour tone of natural wood. Mixing them together looks just as cool. As always incredible photography by Felix Forrest.

And lastly, incase you were interested in what I am currently saving for. (which you are probably not) This is it. The amazing eyewear by the clever Juliette Hogan. Its love.

Amelia Boland, Dream Kitchen and Sophie Store

Fashion and interiors, my two loves. That is what is on the menu for you today. And yes, as always, a cause close to my heart, I am suppporting local. Enjoy.

Leather bags made right here in New Zealand. What more could one possibly want? The work of designer Amelia Boland has pulled me in - hook, line and sinker. I can tell you first hand that the quality of these bags are incredible. With form being led by function, every design aspect of an Amelia Boland item has a purpose while being visualy stylish and comfortable to wear at the same time.

This gorgeous renovated kitchen belongs to Kate Arends of Wit & Delight and photographed by 2nd Truth. That painted brick, those rich blue hexagon tiles, that kilim rug finished with touches of gold. A perfect combination.

I have long been a fan of accessories label, Sophie Store. The attention to deatil that goes into each of their items is quite something. Their hats are this summers (not mention last summers) must have item. I am also eyeing up their gorgeous torty bangles to finish off the perfect day to day outfit. Each item is thoughtfully designed, yet simple, functional and cool. And can I just say, that owner and designer Belinda, is possible the kindest soul. She helped me out with something. She didnt want anything for it and defintly didnt want me to mention it! Good things happen to good people.

Mini Hearts Club, foodie love and a home tour

I had this post all set to publish this morning but somehow my three year old deleted the entire thing! Clever kid he is!!! :) So here we go for round two.

New brand alert and it is a goodie. I am super stoked to introduce you to new childrens clothing range, Mini Hearts Club. I am predicting big things for this brand. Mini Hearts Club designer, Amie Cholmondeley-Smith, says that their philosophy stems from a desire for simplicity and a pared-back aesthetic. Certified Organic Cotton and made in New Zealand, Mini Hearts Club is designed to mix, match and layer, perfect for my playful minis whom I intend on ordering for.

I am always on the hunt for healthy recipes to cook for myself and the kids. This Donna Hay Choc Almond Fudge is next on my bake list for sure.

Lastly before I get my head back into teaching mode and finish my planning for tomorrow, how could I go past this bright and vibrant Australian home belonging to Arabella and Chris Wilson as seen on the Design Files. I am loving the colours, the patterns, the wicker and wood and those kitchen tiles. Perfect combination.

Endemic World, French Country Collections and a home tour

Good morning to you all. Can you believe that it is only a month until Christmas? Crazy. My birthday comes before that. Last years birthday was pretty non eventful. The husband tried but I was crook at the time so this year I plan to really reap the benefits. (Yup, I am a real birtday person!)  My husband keeps asking me what I want but I actually havent come up with anything yet. Best I put my thinking cap on. Yesterday we drove to Wellington to Early Settler to pick up one of our new Sofas. You may recall that we recently got new Sofas from Early Settler. A few days in we knew that the slouch wasn’t going to work in our space.  We worked with the Early Settler Team to quickly return and replace the Slouch with two more beauties. We have gone for a mix of a classic vintage leather, The Stockholm and a timeless linen, The Rochelle. I look forward to showing you images over on instagram.

So because the look our living room will be quite different now, I have been keeping an eye out on artwork to compliment the space. Endemic World is always my first go to. The above prints are high up on my radar. The top print, Dried Flowers, is by Cloud Nine Creative designer Lee Sinclair, the middle, Winter Wanderers, is by an absolute favourite of mine, New Zealand photographer, Georgine Skinner and the last, Spotswood Community Hall is by another New Zealand photographer, Nic Staveley who travels the legnth of the county photographing interesting spaces and people.

Lately I have heard from and seen on various decor facebook pages, people doing up their kitchens. People are keen to makeover their kitchens on a budget and with a point of differece. If  I was at a stage where I was making over my kitchen I would certainly include a unique kitchen island, work bench or a console table of some sort. These two from French Country Collections fit the bill perfectly for me.

Lastly, this Australian beach home designed by Bower Architects caught my eye this morning on Pinterest.

Monday Mix Up

Morning. Firstly, a huge lot of love being sent to famililies and friends after lastnights earthquake here in New Zealand. It certainly was a massive shake and I am thinking of all of my readers who are close to where it was centred. Secondly, I owe you all a massive apology for my silence on the blog these past couple of weeks. Things have been a bit crazy. If that is the case and you are ever wondering what Milo and Mitzy is up to, pop over to our instagram, I keep that updated on a daily basis. Next up, if you have contacted me or we have chatted about featuring your products on the blog, drop me a remider email. I get messages via all of my social media platforms as well as the email and I am just trying to catch up on everything, so a remider email woulod be awesome. Also, if you are a whizz on either blogger or photoshop, please drop me an email. I would love some help via facetime or skype. I am looking for a blogger whizz to do a bit of  'housekeeping' for me.

Right, now that we have that all out of the way, down to the good stuff. I have mentioned many times before about our desire (husband and I) to own a small cabin/bach one day. This tiny house, DOGBOX, designed and built by New Zealanders Ben Mitchell-Anyon, Sally Ogle, and Tim Gittos of Patchwork Architecture, works perfectly as easy cabin living with all of the mod cons needed. Two storyed, double glazed, a great use of indoor and outdoor space and a perfect little wood burner, DOGBOX would accommodate families holidaying like a dream.

Speaking of heading away on family holidays, I have been hunting around for good quality luggage. These travel bags from Coast New Zealand are made of hard wearing water proof cotton and the fact that are New Zealand made sells me even more so. High quality and practical all whilst looking stylish. NZ design at its best. Well you are checking these out, be sure to take a look at the rest of Coasts timeless range. Their woollen throws had me at go.

Next up, I have always been a fan of Frank Stationery. In fact, they have been my go to dairy for the past couple of years. So it is fair to say that I am stoked to have them on board as a sponsor. I look forward to sharing more with you on this later. And if you are interested in becomming a Milo and Mitzy sponsor, drop me an email.

Lastly for today, you may have thought pinterest was a dying trend but the truth is I pin a lot. In fact I am on pinterest daily. Recently, Tina of Roomie, named me as a favourite New Zealand pinterest account for Renovate Magazine. This above image found on Remodelista is on my Pinterest account along with many others. Pop over for a look.

Heather Liddell - Elemental Jewellery - Farmers Styling

Lots of goodies online for you today. Again another amazing Hawkes Bay based creative, NZ jewellery designer and some of my own styling for Farmers NZ. Enjoy your hump day.

I have long admired the work of Hawkes Bay based photographer, Heather Liddle after spotting her work in Homestyle Magazine sometime ago. I also had the pleasure of meeting Heather through another Hawkes Bay creative, Gem Adams. (Did I mention we have some serious talent in this community?) Heather has photographed for some pretty great publications including fashion and design magazines and has shot some of the most amazing weddings.

I am always keeping one eye on the New Zealand jewellery scene as once upon a time I used to design jewellery, wholesaling to many shops around New Zealand.  I recently discovered New Zealand jewellery label Elemental Jewellery. Designer Rosie Carson has an eye for contemporary, minimalist, paired back designs whilst still allowing each piece to be afforadable. Its those beautiful gemstones and Rosies unquie style that captured my eye.

I have been styling and photographing products from Farmers NZ of late. I adore the new homewares brands that they have in store. Here I feature a some of the amazing Farmers bedding including my favourite ticking stripe euro pillow, my new little gold tea spoons and that gorgeous little pastle pink cup and saucer. Pop in store or online for a look.

Logan and Mason - Timeless and Classic

Recently, I was lucky to be given the opportunity, again, to style some gorgeous bedding from Logan and Mason. This time...
