Blue Moon Collection

Like I have said before, I am going on a bit of a mission to showcase my beautiful hometown that is Hawkes Bay, New Zealand. So next up on my radar is a shop where you can often find me wondering aimlessly, gazing at all of the incredible inspiration. Blue Moon Collection is the place.

Blue Moon Collection; a ridiculously cool building on the outside and an even better one on the inside. Seriously you feel like you are overseas shopping in some exotic destination. Here owners Sandra Clark and Lorraine McAra use their passion for travel and their eye for different to share their décor enthusiasm with others. Venturing on an overseas trip twice a year they head to the corners of Europe, The Middle East and North Africa where others wouldn’t dare to visit on buying trips. To the delight of those who share their enthusiasm and taste, they always return with a hoard of treasures in hand ready to line the floors of their beautiful store. An absolute must see.

Bedroom bliss

Just a very quick post tonight.I trust that you have all had a swell day. Hubby at tennis and baby in bed so I am going to have one of those lazy light by yourself type dinners - muesli and fruit, watch my 7pm show and take myself off to bed with a hot cuppa and a magazine.

I chose this image from a fave read of mine, bellaMUMMA because of its simplicity. I am big sucker for white linen and a huge lover of wooden vintage crates.

Do contact me if you have any ideas for Milo and Mitzy or anything that you would like me to check out. miloandmitzy@gmail.com

Happy evening.

The homes of Mark Tuckey

Mark Tuckey. The incredibly talented Australian. Furniture designer, father, husband to his wife, stylist Louella and owner of Mark Tuckey Designs. I was browsing through his website and decided I just had to show you these images of his homes featured in various magazines over the years dating back as far as 2006.

An absolute genius designer with an even radder eye for detail and with a stylist wife it is no wonder their current and past homes have been nothing but amazing. Mark has showrooms in both Melbourne and Sydney and manages a team of 15 experienced furniture makers This man is one seriously busy guy. If only he had a store in NZ right? But then again we do have some pretty fab designers here too. Watch this space.

Stylish home in Poland

Another posting for today. Making the most of a sleeping baby and no work! (Actually procrastinating) I absolutely had to show you this gorgeous Polish home that I WANT TO BE MINE!

This incredible home belongs to Joanna and her husband Seba. Joanna is an illustrator and a graphic designer working for various magazines and book publishers. This home is a two leveled home with the bottom floor being completely open planned and inspired by Joanna's travels. The mixture of materials in this home is what caught my eye and it is also pretty hard to go past a brick wall and a cowhide. See more of this fabulous home on decor8 or visit Joanna's blog Kavka here.

FEATHERHORSE

Its an absolute pleasure to introduce to you this morning, Lisa of FEATHERHORSE.

Hi there. I was totally flattered to be asked by the gorgeous Amy to be a guest blogger on Milo & Mitzy- An inspirational blog with such a great vibe. Thanks for having me Amy.

Amy and I found each other on Facebook through our mutual love of interiors. I have a page called FEATHERHORSE where I indulge in my addiction by posting pics of inspirational interiors and things that make me swoon. I am an artist and interior stylist with a background in fashion & graphic design…basically a whole lot of arty-farty stuff, so I show my own work on this page also. I also work part-time for Coco Republic assisting with styling & decorating.

I live in Western Australia with my little fam- my gorgeous hubs and our beautiful girls Sana & Arlie & our dog Hudson- a weimarana. I am lucky enough to be able to work mostly from home so I can hang out with my little girls.

Married to a surfer, we spend lots of time at the beach which is close by. We love wholesome delicious food and good coffee so we like to try out lots of different places and love it when we discover hidden gems. I also love to cook & my husband is passionate about his garden & we love listening to music too. Cook-offs, gardening, loud music, singing, dancing are a daily occurrence at our place so as you can imagine- we love summer!

We have a pretty relaxed vibe and it shows within our space. I think your home should be a reflection of you and what you love to be surrounded by. Get inspired and get real- be true to yourself and don’t be afraid to break ‘the rules’.  My husband has a background in horticulture & designer furniture so with both of our creative juices flowing our home is ever evolving. I’m always experimenting and changing things around & I never get precious about anything being permanent. Walls are definitely a great place to get creative, so with all of that in mind, I wanted to share with you a few inspirational interiors with some arty flair.

Enjoy!

Lisa xx

Thank you so much Lisa for your gorgeous post. We love your style.

Sunday...

Something a bit different this Sunday evening here on the blog. I thought I would share a wee snippet of my day out in the sunny Hawkes Bay since I am going on a bit of mission to sell this place to you all. First stop was the Hawkes Bay Farmers market. The place was buzzing, the sun was shining and the local producers were a happy happy bunch.

Crowds enjoying the market
Next up we headed to F.G Smith Eatery and Aroha & Friends where we enjoyed an insanely delicious lunch. Hubby feasted on Thai corn fritters and I had the Tempura fish and chips. The vegie garden at this place is extremely impressive, not to mention a motivator to get cracking in my sad looking garden. The beauty about this place is you can basically shop whilst you eat. I mean not literally, but actually you can just pop through into Aroha & Friends while you wait for your meal to arrive and check out all of their goodness on offer. I did!

Lastly we headed into town and for a quick potter around the shops. We were certainly not going to leave before ducking into one of my all time favourite shops, Madisons. A huge amazing store full of everything that I dream of having in my home one day. So much inspiration.

A quick stop at a friends house and then home to put this little poppet to bed.

Phew, thats me. Off to bed now.

Annabell Kutucu

I have always adored Annabell Kutucu hence the reason I am head over heels for this newly transformed apartment in Vienna...
