Andy Coltart Architecture

Todays post is close to home for me and dear to my heart. I have grown up watching the work of Hawkes Bay architectural designer Andy Coltart.  (Literally used to pass these properties every day on the way home) Watching Andys work develop has been mind blowing to say the least. Being fortunate enough to visit a few of these properties is something else altogether. (We hired a couple of them for our wedding party) And I plan to visit many more in the future. (I hope my husband reads this!)

You can recognise an Andy Coltart property from a mile away. Dotted around the hills and on the coastlines of Hawkes Bay, Andy, born and bred in the province learnt that design and architecture was his calling, when previously a farmer, he took on the renovation of his own home.

Andy has been responsible for turning Hawkes Bay into a thriving, stylish tourist destination along with business partner Kim Thorp of Black Barn vinyards. Most of these properties pictured are available for rent. Seriously a must do.

Stay warm.

Home Tour

I thought that it was about time I brought you another home tour. My favourite part of the blog. I am a nosy person, so yes, looking into someone else's home is right up my ally.

This home has been styled beautifully by real estate giants Fantastic Frank. (I guess you could say that it is a cheats version of a home tour, but all the same, it is an inspiring home to look at)

What particularly caught my eye was the brass detailing throughout the home. Its fair to say that I am pretty obsessed with brass at present.

I am on the hunt at present for some new cutlery. I just love love love that brass set picturd. I have found a similar set here from Anthropology but if anyone knows where I could purchase something of the sort from in New Zealand, please do let me know. Collected do some gorgeous brass servers also.

Happy Friday to you all.

Teeny by Incy Interiors

You know me, mad about kids interior right? Always on the hunt for the newest and coolest. Hence the reason I am super excited to introduce you the latest range from Incy Interiors, Teeny by Incy Interiors. Created out the longing for fashionable yet affordable cots and change tables, Teeny celebrates classic Scandinavian design and functionality as well as capturing that simplistic, minimalist feel that works so well in any nursery.

With features such as rounded corners, removable sides and the ability to grow with your child, transforming into a toddler bed, the Teeny cot is a must for any Mum to be. The change table does not disappoint either with three shelves that transform into book cases as your little one gets older.

Head over to Incy Interiors to see more or shop here. Also a big thank you for the emails I get about new products that might suit Milo and Mitzy. Keep them coming in and sorry if I take a wee bit to get back to you.

Pure wool pompom blanket

Monday....grrrr. What brings you here? I wasn't ready for you yet. After a fabulous weekend with friends away in Auckland I am back and ready to face the new school term.

Something that I have had my eye on for a while now are the pure wool pompom blankets from The Foxes Den. Hand woven on wooden looms using traditional methods, these blankets not only add serious style to your bedroom but they are super cosy for the up and coming winter months.

Moody blues

I am usually a light, bright, fresh bedroom kind of girl. Lately however, I have been drawn to moody hues used throughout the room. Whether it be a darker wall, moody coloured curtains or beautiful linen in darker tones, it gives off a romantic feel and hey, a bit of romance is a great thing right?

1 2 3
Gorgi offer a fantastic range of darker toned linen bedding. Mix and match with their cool printed pillows and you will have yourself one stylish looking bed. To finish off your bedroom, Resene have a huge range of colours to suit anyones needs such as their Karen Walker powder blue.

Above is a selection of my favourite moody pieces from Australias Milk and Sugar. Milk and Sugar have a playful Scandinavian aesthetic going on that works well with so many different styles. Do pop over here to shop now.

Home Tour

A late post tonight. I really am enjoying spending time with Frankie, Patch and the hubby these school holidays. It is so nice not having to rush off to school and day care early in the morning. We spent this morning inside. I made the kids their own craft boxes with all sorts of different things in them. They love it, so that kept them busy for the morning. This afternoon we rugged up and headed outdoors into the rain.

While the kids were busy with their new little art boxes, I was able to have a quick browse online. I came across this absolutely stunning home. (More castle than home if you ask me!) Designed by Belgium architect company Oscar V. Tonight I let the pictures do the talking. Happy Thursday everyone.

Mix up Monday on a Tuesday.

Welcome back after a nice long Easter weekend. Lets kick off the week with a bit of a mix up on whats new around the web and what is inspiring me of late.

First up from Mocka I have fallen seriously head over heels in love with their wee Minka House. Made from durable cotton canvas, the Minka House contains wooden poles and an eye catching geometric pattern that would add Wow factor to any little room. On my wish list that is for sure.

Next up, always a big fan of A Merry Mishap, creative driving force behind the blog, Jennifer, has got some serious style going on. Her made over living room ticks all of the boxes for me. From that Fiddle leaf fig plant which you can buy from here in New Zealand. (they can order in for you so please contact them) Through to that amazing Icelandic sheep skin which you can purchase here.

And lastly, Delonghis new breakfast collection Distinta is built from lasting metal and with all the Italian flair you’d expect from the celebrated brand. Setting a new standard for the high-end breakfast market, Distinta delivers style, quality and sophistication and is available in copper, future bronze, elegance black and pure white. Another to add to my must have list.

Have you got a product/event/service that you think Milo and Mitzy would like to hear about. Email us, miloandmitzy@gmail.com
