Just because - Mix up

Just some picture because today. Cold here. The fire is lit. Cuppa in hand. Kiddies asleep as they are both getting over a cold. First up...

I am completely in lust with linen sofas at the moment especially in this dark charcoal colour. You can pick up similar from MCM House at our very own Father Rabbit.

I have been wanting a large black star for a while now. See here for similar. This office space is too cool. Loving the light and the mix of chairs. You can buy these lights from Indi Home Collective.

I think a city guide of London would look perfect in my household. Not that I have been, but hey, one can dream right?

Via my Pinterest
Obsessed with dark denim at the moment. Luckily for me Country Road has come to my rescue. Especially loving their quilted denim jacket.

Lastly I am so so desperately wanting one (Or a few) of these vintage Charlotte Perriand tan leather chairs or bar stool. Do let me know if you have any idea of where I may be able to pick one up in New Zealand.

Stay warm.

I don't really think that this brand needs an introduction but incase you have been hiding under a rock let me tell you who we have here and why we at Milo and Mitzy love them!

I am thrilled to have French Country featuring on Milo and Mizty today. French Country was the first New Zealand home ware brand that I appreciated. I remember receiving several pieces for my 21st birthday.

French Country pride themselves on supplying to the most beautiful and creative stores in Australasia. Click the link to find your nearest stockist.

French Country is kindly offering one lucky Milo and Mitzy reader the chance to win themselves a Woolen Pom Pom Throw in soft grey valued at $289. Piece Makers

I am thrilled this morning to introduce you to the lovely and talented Fe who runs New Zealands Piece Makers. Piece Makers is an online market of beautiful, brilliantly created handmade items. (I am a little bias as we sell our chunky knit throws from here!) Piece Makers is like a real time local market only the brilliance is that you can do all of your shopping right from your computer.

A few words from Fe - I started Piece-Makers because I felt there was a need for an online market place where things are included, not just because they are “handmade” but because they are beautiful and well made too.  I wanted to create a space where people who have something truly gorgeous to sell can present it in the best possible light and where discerning buyers can find things without having to wade through masses and masses of “stuff”.

Having a talented graphic designer for a husband and a brilliant web developer in the family has certainly helped.  Our goal is to provide a “venue", much like a real time market, for clever individuals who want to sell on-line without the kerfuffle or expense of creating their own well designed, e-commerce website, or the high percentages charged by other online markets and who want their products to be seen in a clean clear gallery like space, without the visual “noise” of masses of other products and advertisements.

Thank you so much Fe. Pop by and check it out for yourself here, or if you want to get in touch and apply to become a seller on Piece Makers check in here.

Bedroom Bliss

Bedrooms are high up on my radar at present. We moved into a new house several months ago and while I unpacked and set up the main living areas, I sort of neglected my own bedroom somewhat. Hence the reason I have made it my mission over the next couple of weeks to create a wee escape, somewhere to go and switch off.

This bedroom caught my eye. This bedroom belongs to Wendy, the clever lady behind the blog beeldSTEIL. I am loving Wendys choice of textiles. Blankets in grey hues make it easy to add colour else where if you desire or keep it simple by adding black and white.

Wendy has also created a super cool room for her son Mees. Oh I swoon over that desk. A great example of adding colour by throwing that orange blanket over the end of the bed.

Shopkeeper Interview - Maree & Co

I am thrilled today to introduce you to the clever Amelia of newly established online home wares store Maree & Co.  Thank you Amelia.

What made you start Maree & Co?

I have always been so inspired by interior design, objects, styling, beautiful weddings and events. After studying Interior Design at University I went on to work in the industry but knew I wanted to get into my own creative projects. Starting online was an affordable option and I had been eyeing up our barn at home for years, dreaming of turning it into a creative studio. Last year I decided to take the plunge and I am loving it.

What inspires you?

Interiors and beautiful spaces, fashion, objects, wellness and design blogs, cooking, places, friends and family and creative people in day-to-day life.

What are you favorite books/mags?
I read Dr Libbys book Beauty from the inside out over summer, which I loved. Any Interior or fashion books/magazines including Fete Press, Homestyle, Your Home and Garden, Urbis, Hello May, Kinfolk, Porter, Elle just to name a few.

What are your favorite websites/blogs?

Petite Kitchen, Bonnie Delicious and Julia and Libby for wellness and food inspiration. My favorite design blogs would have to be The Design Chaser, Milo and Mitzy, Studio Home, Magnolia Rouge, Hello May and Peppa Hart. Pinterest is still a favorite too with an endless amount of inspiration.

Can you tell us you favorite food?
Anything in the new my Petite Kitchen cookbook, which is full of amazing, healthy recipes. I love going out for breakfast in the weekends and start my day with a nice coffee every morning.

Can you share future goals for Maree & Co?

I am so excited to be launching the Event hire section later in the year which I am busy working on. I also cannot wait to have the maree & co studio/showroom open and have a space to fill with beautiful pieces, style products, invite clients to and have fun in. The showroom will be open for anyone interested in viewing Maree & Co's collections to hire. Products will range from beautiful chairs and jars to lighting, wine glasses and lots more. With the online store side, I am constantly on the hunt for beautiful products and will keep adding new collections to grow Maree & Co's range. I am also working on another exciting section to add to Maree & Co in the next few months so watch this space!

Above, gorgeous images from the Maree & Co Pinterest boards.

Home Tour - Sara Medina Lind

Massive apology for my absence. I have been away attending my graduation which is a good feeling to have that all complete and the certificate in my hand. As the weather turns we are starting to add warmth and texture to our interiors. That doesn't mean that I don't still lust after gorgeous crisp, fresh, white and open homes and here is one that I has completely caught my eye.

Spotted on Nordic Days, this is the home of 26 year old photographer Sara Medina Lind. Half Swedish, half Canadian.  Sara creates a gorgeous clean yet inviting space in her home. She uses texture such as throws, rugs and art work on the walls to add interest. See below to be on your way to achieving a similar look.

The ever popular Playtype print from Pop Motif. Gorgeous linen bedding from Jamie Kay and that oh so swoon Miners Light from LET LIV.

Happy days.

You may have heard of the name LUCKYBOYSUNDAY recently. There is a definite buzz floating around about this Copenhagen brand. It seems to be a hot trend and growing. LUCKYBOYSUNDAY is a brand of modern luxury knitted toys and soft furnishings for the home and boy do they look cool in any room.

Luckily for us here in New Zealand, Auckland Design Quarter stocks this brand but the bad news is they are selling out fast. Contact Carrol on Design Quarters Facebook page for more information.

Quick wee house tour -

Loving this Stokholm property for sale through Fantastic Frank, spotted on Stil Inspiration. I am not sure how or why, but somehow the week has gotten away on me. Sorry for my absence. Lots of goodies in store over the next couple of weeks. But for now....

Do you love those leather chairs as much as I do?? Oh I wish! And anyway... where on earth can you find them in NZ? Gap in the market perhaps.

Happy Thursday??? Or is it Wednesday??

LET LIV

LET LIV are at it again. Bringing us the best of the best from around the globe. Natalie of LET LIV brings us products of high quality that are bang on trend. If I had a dollar for every time that I frequented LET LIVs website I would be one wealthy lady. (I would spend that money wisely at LET LIV of course!) Below are a few of my current favorite picks as well as interior images that I have found inspired by LET LIV products.

Via
Kip and Co, bottle grinder set from Menu and a Karlsson wall clock, what more could you possibly want?

Via
Loving the Bamboo Cloche light shade, I have one of those Marble Trivets on its way to me for my kitchen, yippeee! Again more Kip & Co goodness (do you know I have always been a wee bit iffy on Kip and Co but jeepers I am loving their new collection!) and how could I forget those fab wee Hang It Pegs brought to us all the way from the UK.

Lastly, how rad is this beech wood dryer? Why should the laundry miss out on style right?

Be sure to pop over and check out LET LIV. LET LIV is one of my fabulous sponsors. Along with my many other rad sponsors. Do click on their banner on the side page to head over to their site.

Happy Monday.
